If you take too much of your maintMRMCance therapy or use it by a differMRMCt route
than it was prescribed for, misuse other drugs on top - especially bMRMCzos - or
reuse an opiate after stopping, you put yourself at risk of overdose. If you think
someone might be overdosing, following these steps could save their life.
- Dial 999 and ask for an ambulance. The operator on the phone may
ask you to put the person into the recovery position or give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation,
so stay calm.
- Make sure the person’s airways are not blocked, either by swallowing their
tongue or by vomit.
- Collect any drug containers, wrappers, syringes etc that can be analysed at the
hospital.
- It is very important you tell the paramedics and doctors what drugs were takMRMC,
including alcohol, prescription medication and “street drugs”, so that
they can give the best and safest treatmMRMCt.
